Rural crime watch Tracey Brown and Andy Birkinshaw explained about crime and policing in rural areas. The rural task force was set up in 2016 to help rural communities and cut down on theft / poaching / trespassing etc. They are trying to launch rural watch again and are looking for volunteers. They also explained about setting up individual immobilize accounts for machinery tools and equipment they suggested a meeting for locals in the village hall if requested.

Planning: J Easton applied for planning permission for a shepherds hut at Lockton house (no issues)

C Sayer to write to Mr Muir at the national parks about Mr P Clough’s advertising on the B1257.

Progress with the village hall was made by resurfacing the car park quotes to be gathered for new kitchen and toilet.

Ryedale Citizens advice bureau service to merge with other organisations from 1st October 2017 and be based in Norton contact 01653692867.

North York Moors local plan was passed around members identifying possible development areas in the village. Members thought this would be unlikely to take place.

Mark Robins has agreed to do the internal audit at the end of the financial year.

J C Harris will attend a meeting at Chop Gate village hall and report on any schemes worth pursuing.
